When you go to a HalfBrother Sid show, if you can
stop rocking out for just a few seconds, you might just notice a few
things. You’ll notice how tight the sound is. Depending on the set they
play, you’ll notice how easily they switch from rock to funk to soul,
and you’ll often hear all three in a single song. And you’ll notice that
when the last song plays, their energy level is just as strong as when
they stepped on the stage. These are all things that you might notice if
you weren’t too busy bangin’ your head and shouting along.
HalfBrother Sid comes out of Richmond, Virginia but
they maintain an active tour and recording schedule that takes them up
and down the Atlantic coast where they have earned a rock solid
following for their powerful sound. It’s a sound that is instantly
radio-friendly, but more importantly it’s earnest. These guys pour all
of their energy into perfecting and fine-tuning the music and the
performance, and they demonstrate that dedication at every show.
The band features Tony Jackson on vocals, Scott
Harritan on guitars and backup vocals, Mike Schaum on guitar, Chris
Moore on Bass and Brian Kluender on drums. HalfBrother Sid gets its name from a character in The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. |
